How do I log a meal?
Open Log a meal and choose an entry method. Food search lets you select a food and quantity. Food and Drink analyse a description such as '2 slices of whole-wheat bread with eggs' or a photo. Review and edit the values before saving. Nutrition label reads the printed values on a packaged food from a photo. Recipe reads a recipe image, and manual entry saves your own values without analysis. You can also log a missed meal on a previous day, up to 30 days ago.
How do I repeat a meal or save a dish?
Open a meal and choose Repeat meal to log it today or on another day. Its values and sources are preserved without another analysis. Save as dish adds it to My dishes, where you can combine ingredients and record cookware weights to subtract the container when weighing your food.
Where do the values come from, and why are some unknown?
Each meal identifies its source: USDA, historical FRIDA, a nutrition label, Open Food Facts, community contributions, your values or an AI estimate. Fibre, sugars, salt and saturated fat are complete totals only when every ingredient has that value. Otherwise missing data remain unknown, never an assumed zero. Read more in Our methodology (calorie.one/methodology).
How do I export or import my data?
In Settings → Your data, export meals as CSV or JSON, your water log, dashboard preferences and goals. Export dishes and cookware from My dishes. Import meals accepts CSV or JSON and shows a preview before saving. Duplicate meals are skipped. You can undo an import afterwards; subsequently edited meals are kept.
How do weight tracking and the journal work?
Weight, body measurements and journal entries are health data. They stay off until you consent and are stored encrypted. Only you can access these records through the app. In Settings → Health data, export them or withdraw consent to delete them from the active database. See the privacy information for backup retention.
Can I connect a watch or Apple Health?
The native app includes a health connection under Settings. It requires your permission for Apple Health or Health Connect and confirmation of transfers. Exercise can be imported and confirmed meal calories can be exported. Weight import is on the weight page and requires separate consent. These features are unavailable in a normal web browser. Watch support depends on the watch's own app sharing compatible data with the phone's health service. Calorie.one does not connect directly to the watch vendor. Independent Calorie.one native releases are still being prepared.
How do I delete my account?
At the bottom of Settings, choose Delete my account and all data. This removes your meals, dishes, weight records, journal and other account data from the active app database, then deletes the sign-in account with our authentication provider. This cannot be undone. Export your data first if you want to keep a copy.
Frequently asked questions
Why do the values differ from another app?
Apps use different databases and food records. Calorie.one uses USDA for common foods and shows each meal's source. Uncertainty depends on food selection, quantity and entry method; there is no established fixed error percentage for every meal.
How can I contact support?
Email [email protected] or use the contact page. Calorie.one is independently maintained; response times can vary.
How do I report an incorrect food record?
Open the food in Food search and choose Report an error, or email [email protected] with the food name and the value that appears incorrect.
