The basic app is free.
Running it has a cost.
Calorie.one is built and run by one person, a student who pays for hosting, the domain and AI analysis. There are no advertisements or investors.
Supporting the project is entirely optional and does not change the features available to you. If you use the app and find it useful, a contribution can help cover its running costs.
Use the button to contact us about supporting Calorie.one.
Any contribution is voluntary.
What does your support pay for?
Three main costs keep the app running. AI analysis varies with usage: each photo or description sent for analysis has a provider cost, so the bill grows as more people use the app.
- Server
- Runs the app, database and website. A recurring monthly cost.
- AI analysis
- Each meal analysis and coach reply has a cost from OpenAI. Usage grows with the number of users.
- Domain and certificate
- The calorie.one domain is renewed annually.
Does a contribution unlock anything?
No. Contributions do not unlock memberships, extra features or a badge beside your name. They are gifts, not purchases.
You can also help without paying: tell us when something is broken and tell other people about the app. Both are valuable ways to help.
